Meet the Team Behind Prairieland Feeds
Savoy, IL
Lisa & Garry - Store Owners
Bailey Burnett - Store Manager
I grew up just outside of Urbana IL. On a small hobby farm, I’ve had horses basically my entire life and definitely never grew out of my horse girl era. I have 2 of my own now and just recently got into endurance riding!
I was in 4-H growing up and have always loved taking care of animals! Which is why I love working for Prairieland, I get to help other pet parents take care of their pets whether that’s small question or big. I am here for you! I like social media, much like the rest of my generation, and am so lucky to have recently been given the opportunity to help manage the social media accounts for Prairieland!
You’ll probably never see me without a Dr. Pepper close by. And when I’m not at work I love going on adventures with my “velcro” dog Pippin or trail riding with my horses.
Eric Steck- Warehouse/Facilities Manager & Traeger Specialist
Born in Urbana, raised in Mahomet, I moved to Champaign Illinois a few years after I graduated from Mahomet-Seymour High school in 2009. My journey began with Prairieland Feeds in June 2022 and in that time, I have learned a lot about pets, nutrition, and the value of hard work. Because of the nature of the business, I soon desired to have a pet of my own. My wife and I both agreed to adopt an orange American Shorthair cat that we named Ahsoka.
Some of the greatest moments and experiences have come from customers bringing in their animals. Most of the time, people bring in their dogs, which are so much fun to pet, play with, and feed treats! Amazingly, I have had the chance to hold a baby duck, a snake, and even a friendly macaw! Another great experience was when my co-worker, Chad and I used our store’s Traeger pellet grill to smoke three large pork shoulders for the staff for dinner. That was the best barbeque pulled pork I have ever eaten in my life!
Some of my hobbies and interests include pestering my wife about different kinds of migratory birds that have flown into our backyard, RC car racing with my friend Chad, and telling people that I love sweets so much that I was born with an additional sweet tooth.
Brittney - Office Manager
I started rodeoing when I was in kindergarten and continued through high school. I spent time training my own horses along with outside horse, and have given riding and roping lessons. I continued to attend open speed shows after high school. I was very active in FFA and was our chapter reporter.
I love working at PLF because of the sense of family. From the employees to the customers, it is always a great interaction!
I am a wife to an ag worker and a mom to two teenage boys. Braxton, 18 and Eli, 16. I am an avid football and baseball fan - no matter if it’s professional or watching my kids! We have two Australian Cattle Dogs - one red male named Cinch, and one blue female named Nala.
Callie - Floor Manager
I grew up in Indiana showing cattle and sheep. Showing cattle gave me the opportunity to travel all around the states. I got my associates in ag business from Lake land college. I use my degree to further promote the ag industry.
I love working at Prairieland Feeds because of the customers who I meet and get to interact with. I love helping them find the right product that works for their pet needs. Also the opportunities that I have gotten to have from starting out as a sales associate to now being a floor manager and the purina retail performance specialist.
A couple fun facts about me is, my birthday 04/04/04. You will also never catch me without a coke everyday. 3/4 of my paycheck goes to turquoise and Navajo pearls.
Beth - Key Holder
I grew up riding horses and competed in jumpers for about 10 years. I currently have a mare named Brie who I board in St. Joseph and I am the fundraising director of the Illini Equestrians. I enjoy working at Prarieland because I learn something new about nutrition every time I’m working. I also love meeting new people. My fun fact is that I have a cat named Leo.
Isabella - Key Holder
My name is Isabella, and I’m a creative communicator with a degree in Communication from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which I now call home. I was born in Downers Grove and raised in Naperville, IL, and I bring a good dose of Midwestern warmth and energy to everything I do. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me running, playing soccer or volleyball with my husband, or hanging out with our two cats—an orange ball of energy and a sweet grey-and-white snuggler. I’ve always been an animal lover and once had a lively little crew of gerbils and hamsters. What I love most about working at Prairieland Feeds is the mix of great people, passionate customers, and the chance to be around animals (and fellow animal lovers) every day. It’s a place where I feel both energized and appreciated. I’m all about connection, creativity, and keeping things fun, so working at Prairieland Feeds is where all three come together!
Hans - Sales Associate
Since I was a young lad I have always been interested in animals and nature. I have owned a large variety of critters throughout my years, with my most recent being a giant African bull frog named Wamuu. What I enjoy most about working here at Prairieland Feeds is that every day is different and exciting. With such a wide range of animals we provide for, no two days feel the same. Some fun facts about me; I’m a big lakers fan, I enjoy fishing, and my favorite food is sushi.
Ava - Sales Associate
I grew up in southern Illinois with a big family that was very horse oriented. I spent my childhood junior rodeoing but now mainly focus on jackpot shows when my college schedule allows. I’m currently an undergraduate at UIUC studying animal sciences with an equine focus. I’m planning on pursuing a masters in equine reproduction and physiology and going into research.
I enjoy working at prairieland feeds because of the great customers and atmosphere. As an animal enthusiast it is a treat to get to spend my afternoons helping out other animal lovers and finding the best products for their pets.
Fun facts: I have a pet Holstein steer named Harold that is broke to ride. You won’t catch me without a Redbull anytime of the day, and I’ll still be taking a nap after work/class.
Delaney - Sales Associate
I’ve been riding horses for 6 years now and I have 2 of my own horses! I barrel race as well as a little bit of roping. I’m currently a junior in highschool and I plan on attending parkland to get my nursing degree once I graduate. I love working at PLF because I love meeting and talking to new people and helping them as much as I can. I also love the environment and the people around me! A few fun facts, I also play softball, I’ve been playing for about 10 years and I am a catcher! I also play volleyball. I also have 3 dogs and all three of them are pitbulls and I also have 2 cats!”
Molly - Sales Associate
- I am involved in FFA at my high school, and am graduating in May. Throughout my childhood I loved participating in 4-H and going to the Illinois State Fair! I’m always learning more about animal nutrition and am eager to learn more.
- I love working at Prairieland Feeds because of the amazing people I get to help and meet. I get to learn something new everyday from customers or from fellow staff. I enjoy hearing everyone’s story and I LOVE when customers bring their dog in, it makes my day so much better!
- I love running in my off time, my favorite food is Culver’s ice cream, I am one of six children, future goal: cowboy corgi as my first dog, we have a family cat named Steve and one named Runty, & I’m a camp counselor during the summers!
Chad - Warehouse/Delivery Driver
Brennan - Warehouse/Delivery Driver
After high school I went to School out in Western Illinois. While attending university I landed a job as a day hand for the 7HL Ranch in Vermont IL. They ran an outfit of 8,000 head year round with most on pasture and about 1,000 head in a feedlot. During my time there I got to train a couple fresh Colts and rope a lot of calves on some very nice horses.
The main reason I like working at PLF is for the family owned and operated feel. Everyone knows each other and we all get along unlike at a big corporate company where you don’t know who anyone is.
Some fun facts about myself is I am definitely an adrenaline junkie. I love participating in board sports like snowboarding, wakeboarding, and skating. I also for some reason love riding green horses who will give you a run for your money and make your heart race.
